State Farm also sponsors a national grants program focusing on driving safety, home protection, disaster preparedness and recovery, and personal financial security. 2. Conservation Partners Funding for Wildlife Conservation on Private Land

Conservation Partners, a partnership between the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Natural Resources Conservation Service, the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation, and other regional/initiative specific partners, provides grants on a competitive basis to organizations working with NRCS field offices to provide technical assistance to farmers, ranchers, foresters, and other private landowners to optimize wildlife habitat conservation on private lands.

Priority will be given to proposals that target species and ecosystems of shared interest between NFWF and NRCS, including but not limited to the following areas: Northeast forests, Upper Mississippi River basin, Gulf of Mexico, and prairie pothole.

3. State Farm Youth Advisory Board Grant

The State Farm Youth Advisory Board is composed of young adults who demonstrate exemplary work in service-learning, volunteering, and philanthropy in their communities. The Youth Advisory Board National Grant Program funds student-led service-learning projects throughout the United States and parts of Canada. 4. Elmer’s and Kids in Need Foundation K-12 Teacher Grant Program

Grants will be awarded to teachers who wish to conduct classroom projects selected from a catalog of more than five hundred projects currently in the Kids In Need Guide to Award Winning Projects. Grant awards will be based on financial need, description of how the particular project meets the educational needs of students and satisfies state standards or school curriculum requirements, and the number of students who will benefit from the project.

5.  American Museum of Natural History (AMNH) Young Naturalist Awards

This program invites students to plan and conduct their own scientific investigation, one that includes observations, questions, predictions, data-gathering field trips, and analysis. Investigations should provide students with a new understanding about their question. To enter, students must submit an essay that includes tables, charts or graphs, and artwork or photographs that help illustrate their findings. In addition to cash awards, winners will be given an expense-paid trip to New York City to attend an award ceremony at the Museum and to take a behind-the-scenes tour.

18. Tennessee Valley Authority Corporate Contribution Program

Contributions made to not-for-profit 501(c)(3) organizations through the Corporate Contributions programs are broad-based in community outreach and scope, with special emphasis on education, economic development and civic-business partnerships that further enhance TVA’s mission of service. Requests for large contributions are considered by a diverse committee of TVA representatives that meets quarterly.  Focus areas include: Education, Human Services, Civic-Business Partnerships and Others.

19. Appalachian Community Fund Technical Assistance Grants Program

To be eligible for a Technical Assistance grant, the purpose, structure and work of applicants must meet ACF’s General Fund guidelines (see website). Technical Assistance grants are designed to build organizational capacity and to help train board and/or staff in organization building skills such as but not limited to: leadership development, fundraising; planned giving; board responsibilities and roles, long range planning, financial management/planning, legal issues, e.g., non-profit incorporation, community organizing, informing community/media about work, trainer’s fees, materials, and travel.
