• Attend the Clinch River Regional Summit on February 29th to report out on the State Park idea
• Distribution of action group Fact Sheet with legislators in Richmond is ongoing
• Get on the agenda for the April DCR Board meeting
• Set up a meeting with our SW delegation in Abingdon after the close of the current session
• Continue to seek and incorporate input into our State Park study RFP

Previous Next Steps:

• Receive comments on draft RFP, especially from DCR, and update the document for presentation to full Clinch River Strategy Group in January – Brad Kreps lead on updating RFP

•  Schedule and invite SWVA legislators to briefing on State Park effort.  Try to hold briefing at Heartwood last week in December or first week in January – Linda Marshall lead on getting date and written invitation out.  Del. Johnson to encourage other legislators to attend briefing.

•  Begin exploring opportunities for funding new State Park study via existing partners (e.g. UVA, VT, Dept. of Forestry, etc.) that are already engaged in Clinch River Strategy Group; and also develop a list of other potential funders (e.g. Alpha, Dominion, County IDAs, etc.).  Be prepared to summarize funding strategy at next meeting of full Clinch River Strategy Group in January – Lead on pulling together funding strategy not identified.

•  Schedule and hold check-in conference call before XMAS to track status on (1)-(3) above- Brad Kreps lead on setting up call.
