Enhancing Water Quality in the Clinch River:
Next Steps:
1. Hiring a full-time paid coordinator to promote water quality and represent the watershed as a “voice of the river.”
2. Compile and interpret water quality data for use in group materials.
3. Create user-friendly water quality resources. Some of these include:
a. An online collaborative map that will allow local citizens, interest groups and federal agencies to coordinate testing and gather data.
b. Watershed “report cards” to accompany environmental education signage at river access points.
c. Newspaper inserts
4. Working with the coordinator, educate the public about the importance of local water quality through watershed literacy workshops.
